A report on traffic issues in Wibsey Village has recently been prepared
by
City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council
Department of Transportation, Design and Planning
Traffic and Highways (south)
The Objectives
- Reduce road injuries
- Safer routes to school
- Pedestrian crossing facilities
- Traffic calming
- Reduce traffic volumes on residential roads
The Bradford South Area Committee has recently considered a report on
traffic issues in Wibsey Village and resolved to promote measures to improve
road safety and to encourage community life and activity. A package of
measures is to be put forward to reduce speeds on Holroyd Hill, High Street
and Fair Road, to provide additional pedestrian facilities and to rationalise
parking.
Other measures included are a school zone at Wibsey Primary School with
traffic calming adjacent - and in surrounding residential roads, one-way
proposals for Upper George Street and the consideration of residents parking
places in village streets. Other safety improvements are proposed at Wibsey
roundabout and St Helena Road/Reevy Road.
Car parking in the village and the existing HGV prohibition are also being
reviewed as part of the package.
