Dispelling the idea that libraries are stuffy, dusty archives of seldom-read literature, Wibsey Library is a bright, appealing building visited by over 500 customers a week.
The main outlet is, of course, books, with a huge range of titles and audio books on the shelves. All tastes are catered for, with the books divided according to genre and available free of charge for a three week loan.
A number of media items are also available for one week loan, with a choice of videos, DVDs and CDs for a small cost. Furthermore, all Bradford Libraries offer a free reservation service for customers who require an item that is not in stock.
25 items can be loaned at any one time, including books, media and even jigsaws!
Many people are unaware that the library has free high-speed internet access, with all library members entitled to two hours surfing per day, up to a maximum of eight hours per week. More than enough time to complete those ebay transactions!
The knowledgeable, welcoming staff are happy to help with any enquiries and frequently stage events ranging from Christmas coffee mornings to Halloween parties!
A weekly Storytime also takes place on Thursdays at 4pm- children of all ages are welcome.
To obtain a membership card valid at all Bradford Libraries, simply pop in to the library with a valid form of identification and start borrowing!
